Job description

Are you a persuasive negotiator with a passion for energy and a drive to contribute to a sustainable, carbon-neutral future? Do you thrive in complex environments and enjoy building solid partnerships to deliver reliable and efficient solutions?
Then this opportunity is for you.
Our client — a leading European player in the energy transition — is actively seeking a dynamic Buyer to strengthen their Procurement Department, which supports power plants across Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges, and their European Maintenance organization.
This is your chance to be part of a company driving innovation and operational excellence in the energy sector, aiming for a carbon-neutral footprint by 2045.
Key tasks include:
Analyze procurement needs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Maintain regular contact with maintenance and project teams to proactively align on upcoming requirements.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process:
Define purchasing strategies together with business partners.
Identify and consult potential suppliers.
Conduct tenders, lead negotiations, and finalize contracts.
Oversee purchase orders and resolve supplier-related issues.
Ensure compliance with corporate rules on health, safety, sustainability, and ethics.
Track and document savings in accordance with group guidelines.
Participate in team meetings, supplier management initiatives, and issue resolution with accounting and business teams.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a relevant field, developing strong analytical and communication skills.
2–3 years of professional experience in a similar role is an advantage.
Fluent in Dutch and English. Willing to improve your French through company-supported language training if needed.
Open to regular visits to power plant locations in the Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, and Brussels regions, and occasional supplier meetings.
A strong negotiator with a solution-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
A clear communicator with a passion for creating added value for the business.

The opportunity to directly contribute to key procurement strategies and the energy transition.
