Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Project Assistant to join the Research and Innovation Program team of a European Commission entity. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and innovation initiatives while working in a dynamic international environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of programs, ensuring projects are executed within deadlines, and assisting with all stages, from call launch to evaluations, grant agreement preparation, and operational follow-up.
The Project Assistant will support the following activities:
Grant Agreement Management: Assist with the documentation of grant agreements for selected projects in collaboration with financial and legal teams, while supporting Programme and Project Officers.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor beneficiaries' compliance with contractual obligations and support the handling of grant amendments, periodic reports, and coordination with external experts when needed.
Project Reviews and Follow-Up: Support Project Officers during project reviews and subsequent follow-up tasks.
Reporting: Contribute to the preparation and activities of the Annual Activity Report.
Call Preparation Support: Assist the Call Coordinator with call preparation and related activities.
Evaluator Selection and Call Evaluation: Assist with the selection of external evaluators and manage logistics and document preparation for call evaluation activities.
Additional Tasks: Carry out other duties as required by Project Officers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education: A university degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Science, Economics, or a related field.
Skills: Strong organizational and planning abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Experience: Proven experience in project management.
Language Proficiency: Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) with a strong command of English.
Personal Traits: High sense of responsibility, autonomy, commitment, a positive mindset, and the ability to handle stress effectively.
Team Player: Cooperative and supportive, thriving in a collaborative environment.
Additional Advantages
Experience: Prior involvement with EU programs, national funding, or similar grant schemes.
Expertise: Knowledge of the Research and Innovation field, particularly in 5G/6G and telecommunications.
Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with EC IT systems such as COMPASS and SYGMA.

Languages

You have a very good knowledge of English
